A description is given of a detection and warning system which recognizes a nuclear explosion. It was devised to aid in the protection of key underground military installations from surprise attack damage. The system is actuated automatically if a nuclear detonation occurs in the imme diate vicinity, but does not give location or direction information. (B.O.G.)
