Study of the elastic properties and heat conductivity of carbons and graphites at room and high temperatures in relation to fabrication and structural variables continued Additional measurements of Poisson's ratio were made. Strain gage techniques were used to determine differences in values for Young's modulus as obtained from tensile, compressive, and bending tests. The effect of convection through pores on ihe measured value of thermal conductivity of dense graphite rods was studied. Measurements of heat diffusivity were extended to higher temperatures (1300 deg C) by a new transient method. (For preceding period see NP-7446.) (T.R.R.)
