THE IDENTIFICATION AND DETERMINATION OF TRACE AMOUNTS OF RARE EARTHS IN GRAPHITE BY NEUTRON ACTIVATION

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4197650
The Identification and quantitative determination of trace amounts of rare earths in graphite by neutron activation are described. The specific rare earth elements identified are europium and samarium. The half lives of Eu/sup 152/ and Sm/sup 153/ were determined as 9.32 plus or minus 0.04 hours and 46.34 plus or minus 0.23 hours, respectively. (auth)
