IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO SPARK-GAP CIRCUITS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4192979

A spark-gap circuit is described which is useful in discharging a number of parallel-connected condensers through a gas discharge tube. The condensers are connected to the discharge tube through spark gaps by means of coaxial cables of length such that the source voltage is delayed more than 1/2 the maximum breakdown times of the gaps. The spark gaps have irradiating electrodes connected through low-capacity condensers to a master spark gap. This master spark gap is so connected that it triggers the others to discharge the condenser bank simultaneously. (T.R.H.)
