The variation in rate of local penetrating showers with solar time, the variation in rate of dense extensive air the primary particles causing extensive penetrating showers at sea level were investigated. Work was also done on the structure of extensive air showers, the performance of directional arrays, and the analysis of pressure variations produced by the atmospheric tides. (W.D.M.)
