THE SAPHIR REACTOR AT WURENLINGEN AND A REVIEW OF ITS USE TO THE PRESENT TIME (in French)

The first part is devoted to a general description of the charscteristic features and the mode of operation of the Wurenlingen swimming pool reactor, which is in service since 1957. The second part deals with possible methods of operation in the future, and the facilities offered by this reactor for carrying out experiments and studies regarding future developments. Some of the work already carried out in connection with the Saphir reactor is described, such as: measuring of the reactor functions, studies with regard to shielding, tests of materials, installation of hot loops, and production of isotopes.
