DECAY SCHEME OF Te$sup 131$ (T$sup 1$2/ = 30 HOURS) (in Russian)

An investigation of Te/sup 131/ decay was undertaken in order to find the order of neutron pair saturation in 3s/sub 1/2/, lh/sub 11/2/, and 2d/sub 3/2/ levels in I/sup 125/, I/sup 127/, I/sup 129/, I/sup 131/, and I/sup 131/. An attempt was made to verify the Te/sup 131/ decay scheme and determine the characteristics of I/sup 131/ lower levels. The flrst excitation level was found to be described by 5/2/sup +/. On the basis of the shell model, I/sup 131/ is in the ground state at lg/sub 7/2/, and the 147 kev level is at 2d,. The decay scheme and the level disp;acements of 2d/sub 3/2/ to 1g/sub 7/2/ show that neutron pairs saturate the 1h/sub 11/2/ level in U/sup 127/, I/sup 129/, I/sup 131/, and possibly I/sup 125/. However, further studies should be made of the decay schemes. (R.V.J.)
