The distribution of /sup 99m/Tc polyphosphate in the P1798 lymphoma in mice was studied in order to determine the mechanism of localization of this radiopharmaceutical in nonosseous neoplastic tissues. Ten to 15 of /sup 99m/Tc stannous polyphosphate was intravenously injected into patients referred to the nuclear medicine division for a bone scan. Approximately 500 bone scans performed during the past 18 months were analyzed for the presence of radiopharmaceutical localization in soft tissue neoplasms. Results showed good uptake in a number of soft tissue tumors. (CH)
