DIRECT COMPLEXOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF HEXAVALENT MOLYBDENUM (in Russian)

A direct titnation of hexavalent molybdenum was achieved with complexon III solution at pH 4 to 5 (0.1% solution of pyrotehin + 0.1% indigo carmine indicator). Large quantities of strontium, potassium. and magnesium do not interfere. It is shown that molybdate interacts with complexon III at a ratio of 2: 1. It is also shown that it is impossible to determine hexavalent molybdenum by titration of complexon III excess with zinc salt solution in the presence of xylenol orange as was previously suggested by J. Kinnuen and B. Wennerstrand. (R.V.J.)
