Electric fields in the midnight sector of the magnetosphere

Conference ·
OSTI ID:4171712
The magnetospheric electric field is an ordering function which is present in both quiet times and during substorm activity. The Harang discontinuity or fault line in the electric field defines the location in the ionosphere and magnetosphere from which events can be triggered to create various phenomena. (BJG)
