SINTERED FUEL ELEMENTS WHICH CAN BE BUILT IN REACTORS WITHOUT CANNING (in German)

Journal Article · · Atompraxis (West Germany) Incorporated in Kerntechnik
OSTI ID:4170812

Molded bodies prepared by the sintering method should consist of uranium- -oxygen compounds with an atomic ratio of U: O of 1:2.05to 1:2.40. The forms should also be porous. Special advantages would be that such fuel elements could be built in the reactor without cladding and would be placed in direct contact with the heat exchange medium. (J.S.R.)
