A study was made of the transmission of a neutron burst through a chopper with cylindrical slits. The probability of transmission of the rotor as a function of the neutrons' speed is determined. Other formulas giving the luminosity and the resolution of the spectrometer are also deduced. Finally, the characteristics of a spectrometer for neutronphonon interaction study are determined. (auth)
