RADIATIVE CORRECTIONS TO INELASTIC ELECTRON SCATTERING

A general recipe is given for extracting the radiative corrections from a set of high energ gamma inelastic electron scattering experiments. This recipe includes the effect of bremsstrahlung in the target material and radiation occurring during the scattering event that is nearly parallel to incident or final electron directions. This includes all corrections of order alpha log (E/ m) or alpha log (E/ DELTA E). It is shown that the effect of this internal radiation is equivalent to adding additional radiator in the beam, even when the high energy photons are taken into account. (auth)
