THE HEAT OF FORMATION OF ZIRCONIUM DIBORIDE BY FLUORINE BOMB CALORIMETRY

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4160340

The heat of formation of ZrBi/sub 1.96/ was determined by combustion in fluorine of a high-purity sample. A preliminary value of --71.5 plus or minus 1.9 kcal/mole was obtained for DELTA H/sub f/(ZrB/sub 1.96/). This value is in good agreement with the latest value of Troison and Goldstein (--71.7 plus or minus 2 kcal/mole). (auth)
