ON THE METHOD OF ABSOLUTE MEASUREMENTS OF ACTIVITY IN GAS LABELED WITH C$sup 14$ AND S$sup 3$$sup 5$ (in Russian)

A method is suggested for measuring the activity of C/sup 14/and S/sup 35/-labeled gas and vapors with a "free gas" ionization chamber. An analysis is made of the utilization of heavy inert gas (xenon or freon-12) under 1 to 3 atm pressure as the main filler with approximately 0.5% of the gas to be measured. Such a method demands small chamber dimensions (diameter and height approximately 100 mm at 3 atm pressure). The order of accuracy is approximately plus or minus 5%.
