Thorium oxyfluoride, ThOF2, decomposes at elevated temperatures to ThO2,(s) and ThF4(g). The equilibrium pressure of ThF4 from the decomposition of ThOF2, was measured in a Knudsen effusion cell from 1109 to 1286 °K. The pressure of ThF4 from the decomposition reaction is LogP(atm) = - $$\frac{17,630 ± 370}{T(°K)}$$ + 9.363 ± 0.302. The free energy, enthalpy, and entropy of formation of ThOF2,(s) at 298 °K are -371.2 kcal/mole, -389.6 kcal/mole, and -62.0 cal/deg-mole, respectively.
