INFLUENCE OF THE WATER CONTENT OF THE AGFA-K2-EMULSION ON THE RANGE OF PROTON TRACKS (in German)

In Agfa-K2 emulsions with different water contents, corresponding to 60 and 0% relative humidity, the range of 6.4-Mev protons was measured. The range difference amounted to 10 mu m. The range calculated according to the formula of Barkas et al. agreed well with the measured value. The ratio of the volume change to weight change for change in the water content of the Agfa-K2 emulsion amounted to 0.842 plus or minus 0.015 cm/sup 3//g. (tr-auth)
