DIMETHYL STYRENE YIELDS MORE EFFICIENT SCINTILLATORS

Journal Article · · Nucleonics (U.S.) Ceased publication
OSTI ID:4151497
Plastic scintillators made with dimethyl styrene were found to give pulse heights up to 60% higher than those made with unsubstituted polystyrene. Scintillators based on copolymers of dimethyl styrenes with styrene or vinyl toluene gave pulse heights that decreased linearly with styrene or vinyl toluene content. (M.C.G.)
