The heat of sublimation of Mn/sub 2/(CO)/sub 10/ was estimated from measurements of the temperature dependence of the equilibrium vapor pressure over the solid in the range 102 to 146 deg C. The result, 15.0 plus or minus 0.5 kcal/mole, was used with other thermochemical data and spectroscopically derived valency-state promotion energies to estimate the strength of the Mn--Mn bond. The result is 34 plus or minus 13 kcal/mole. (auth)
