The strong linear polarization of the radio emission of pulsar PSR 0833- 45 can be accounted for by the effect of an ultrarelativistic magnetoactive plasma in the magnetosphere of the pulsar on the propagation of the radio emission. It is shown that the ultrarelativistic magnetoactive plasma may act as a polaroid for the radio emission in the case of quasitransverse propagation. (AIP)
