We report the detection and positive identification of interstellar NS. We observed emission toward Sgr B2 from the J=5/2$Yields$3/2 $sup 2$Pi$sub 1$/ $sub 2$ c-state (115.16 GHz) and d-state (115.6 GHz) transitions of $sup 14$$N$$sup 32$S. The NS column density is approx.10$sup 14$ cm$sup -2$ derived from statistical equilibrium calculations. We have compared the NS results with other sulfur-containing molecules. (AIP)
