The detection of interstellar cyanamide (NH$sub 2$CH) is reported based on the observation of line emission in Sgr B2 at 80504.5 and 100629.5 MHz corresponding to the transitions 4$sub 13$--3$sub 12$ and 5$sub 14$--4$sub 13$. Statistical equilibrium calculations indicate a low column density (approx.10$sup 14$ cm$sup -2$) arising from a rather high density region (approximately-greater- than10$sup 5$ cm$sup -3$). (AIP)
