A self-contained, readily dismantled and positioned loop for irradiating materials in a swimming pool reactor under defined conditions of temperature and pressure and in a definite ambient medium is described. The sample rests in a vertical tube segment; and the gas, circulating in a closed circuit, cools it. A heat exchanger cools the gas. (D.C.W.)
