DETERMINATION OF PROTACTINIUM-233 IN IRRADIATED THORIUM

A method was devised for the absolute determination of Pa/sup 233/ in irradiated thorium metal by counting the beta emission of chemically separated and purified sources. The counter was calibrated by a source of Np/sup 237/ of known activity in equilibrium with its Pa/sup 233/ daughter. and checked by 4- pi counting. (auth)
