Nonlinear effects are investigated in the excitation of electron-plasma oscillations by considering a nonlinear term in the Boltzmann equation as a perturbation. With the growth of the fundamental component, the second and the higher harmonics are generated as forced oscillations. The magnitades of these components are estimated which give the criteria of validity of linear approximation. Finally the behavior of excited waves in the limit of large amplitade are described.
