An apparatus was designed for measuring the length and weight of a column of repetitively produced bodies, particularly nuclear fuel pellets which are to be enclosed in a can. The apparatus comprises a channel, a reciprocating push member at one end of the channel for feeding the pellets one by one onto the channel, detector means at the other end, and means for arresting the feed when the detector movement exceeds certain limits.
