X-RAY FLUORESCENCE METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF THE TRANSITION-METAL CONTENT IN VERY SMALL SPECIMENS OF ALLOYS
A method is described for the quantitative determination of the transition metal content in very small quantities or alloys containing transition metals of the first long period. The method depends upon measurement of the intensity of the fluorescent x rays emitted by the specimen. and the re sults are evaluated by comparison with a series of standards. An accuracy of better than 1% can be achieved in specimens containing as little as 0.2 mg of the transition metals. (auth)
