Electrical conductivity measurements between 90 and 900 deg K were performed on single crystals with composition UO/sub 2.000/-- UO/sub 200.7/. The activation energy decreases from 0.34 to 0.19 ev with increasing excess oxygen content. Hall effect measurements yielded no measurable response (Hall mobility mu /sub H/ c 0.015 cm/sup 2/ V/sup -1/ sec/sup -1/ at 300 deg K). The res ults can be interpreted on the basis of small polaron theory. (auth)
