The annual report of the CEA gives a survey of its activities with only an indication of the results of particular studies. The general structure and finances of the CEA are given. The activities summarized are the production of basic materials of nuclear industry, technological and scientific investigation (general physics, reactor physics, fuel element studies, nuclear materials, chemistry, biology, health physics, radiation protection, and mineralogy), reactors, artificial radioisotopes, military applications, relations of the CEA with industry, international and public relations, and teaching and training.
