MEASUREMENT OF THE TRIPLE SCATTERING PARAMETER R' IN PROTON-PROTON SCATTERING AT 137 1/2 Mev

The proton-proton triple scattering parameter R' was measured at a laboratory energy of 137.5 Mev over a range of scattering angles theta /sub 2/. The following values were obtained: theta /sub 2/(laboratory) = 20 deg 50', 0.562 plus or minus 0.052; 25 deg 26', 0.472 plus or minus 0.054; 30 deg 8', 0.375 plus or minus 0.068; 35 deg 16', 0.238 plus or minus 0.084; 39 deg 55', 0.251 plus or minus 0.121. The stated errors include a 5% error in R' which is systematic from angle to angle. This has been combined quadratically with the other errors. (auth)
