PROTOTYPICAL TESTING OF PUREX PLANT AGITATOR AF-15

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4140397
A typical Purex plant canyon agitator was operated in a tank, agitating liquid at various levels and temperatures for 4,723 hrs. It was concluded that if the lower turbine of the agitator is totally submerged, the agitutor should perform in excess of 5,000 hrs without failure. Extended operation with the liquid level lower than one inch above the bottom turbine should be avoided at all times. (J.R.D.)
