WELDING TYPE 410 STAINLESS STEEL TO INCONEL
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4139516
Methods of welding Inconel to Type 410 stainless steel with the INCO BP- 85 Inconel-covered electrode are described. Preheating and postweld heat treatments are incorporated in the welding procedure to prevent cracking of the Type 410 stainless-steel base metal and to retain ductility through the joint. Transverse tensile-test data are listed for the three procedures evaluated. (auth)
