LUMINESCENCE AND INTRACOMPLEX ENERGY TRANSFER OF URANYL PHTHALOCYANINE
A study was made of the luminescence spectrum of a uranyl complex with phthalocyanine in dioxane and nonane solution. It was established from fine structure luminescence spectra, obtained by Shpol'skii's method, that the uranyl ion weakly perturbs the energy levels of the nconjugated system of the asaporphyrine ring in the UO/sub 2/Phc molecule, where Phc is an abbreviated rotation for the phthalocyanine skeleton. It was discovered that the luminescence of the complex compound hf an abnormal temperature dependence. Participation of the coordination uranyl ion in the luminescence process was established. On the basis of the dependence of the luminescence spectrum on the wavelength of the exciting light it was concluded that two luminescent centers are present. One of them is the electronic transition from the excited singlet state to the normal (ground) state of the complex compound and the other is the luminescence during energy transfer from the uranyl cation to the system of pi conjugated bonds in the asaporphyrine ring.
