A PLANE-WAVE EXPLOSIVE SYSTEM FOR THE GENERATION OF LOW-AMPLITUDE SHOCK WAVES IN SOLIDS

An explosive system using nitroguanidine to reproducibly generate a low- amplitude plane shock wave in a solid material is described. The detonation pressure of the nitroguanidine compact at 0.3 gm/cc is included. Detailed techniques for making the explosive lens and compact assembly are given. (auth)
