MEASURING U$sup 235$ BY MASS SPECTROMETER COMPARISON TO U$sup 233$ INTERNAL STANDARDS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4133170
>A mass-spectrometric method for measuring the U/sup 235/ isotopic concentration of uranium in uranium hexafluoride by comparison to that of an internal standard of U/sup 233/ was developed. The method is particularly useful for uranium with less than 0.1 wt% U/sup 235/, which is difficult to measure precisely by the usual methods. Standards containing approximately 0.03 wt% U/ sup 235/ were analyzed by this method to a precision of plus or minus 0.27% of the value at the 95% confidence level. (auth)
