ELASTIC SCATTERING OF PROTONS ON PROTONS AT SMALL ANGLES AND AT 6 to 10 Bev (in Russian)

Measurements on 22000 elastic scattering events were carried out with an accuracy of 4.5 to 7.5%. At 10 Bev the cross sections were measured at 12 points between center-of-mass angles 1.5 and 7.5 deg . The corresponding interval of the transmitted 4-momentum square was 0.0038 Bev 2/c/sup 2/ < t< 0.081 Bev 2/c/ sup 2/. Similar measurements were made for 6 Bev at angles from 1.5 to 9 deg . A detailed study was made of the angular range in which Coulomb scattering plays an important part, and there is a correlation between Coulomb and nuclear scattering amplitudes. Differential cross sections of p-p scattering at 6 to 10 Bev, after subtracting purely Coulomb cross sections, were determined, and the cross section excess was observed for both energies at t<0.015 Bev 2/c/sup 2/.
