COMPRESSION CREEP TESTS ON NIOBIUM AT HIGH TEMPERATURES

Journal Article · · J. Less-Common Metals
A description is given of a machine for measuring creep in compression at high temperatures in a vacuum of about 10 mm Hg. The design is such that the maximum temperature of testing is limited mainly by the creep strength of the push rods; rods of recrystallized alumina are satisfactory at 1200 deg C. Creep curves are given for a commercial grade of niobium. (auth)
