STRUCTURE RESEARCH WITH THE AID OF NEUTRON DIFFRACTION (in German)
The significance of neutron diffraction in research on physical properties of solids, particularly structural properties, is discussed. The theoretical basis of the exchange reaction of neutrons with material and the resulting possibilities for the application of neutron scattering in determination of crystal and magnetic structures are compared with x-ray scattering. A description of the neutron diffraction spectrometer installed at the Garching research reactor and some results are given. (auth)
