GAMMA-RAY TRANSITIONS IN $sup 155$Gd

Conversion coefficients of the 86 kev and 105 kev transitions following the beta decay of Eu/sup 155/ are determined to be alpha /sup k//sub 86/= 0.49 plus or minus 0.075 and alpha /sup k/i the intermediate image beta -ray spectrometer and a scintillation spectrometer. In combination with L-subshell ratios, the mixing ratio, delta /sup 2/ = M2/E1, is found to be delta /sup 2//sub 86/< 0.04 and delta /sup 2//sub 105/ < 0.07. These multipolarities are di scussed on the basis of the spheroidal shell model. (auth)
