These are data of an F8 Ib supergiant in the ranges lambdalambda2558-- 2600 and lambdalambda2765--2805 at a resolution of 0.4 A. Line identifications are guided by previous identifications in the range lambdalambda3977--4405. Rare- earth line richness is apparent. Although supernova-companion genesis for rare earths is tenable, there is no demonstrable connection between $gamma$ Cyg and the so-called $gamma$-Cygni supernova remnant or nebula. In particular, there is no ultraviolet spectral evidence for mass ejection that might excite the nebula. The Mg ii lambdalambda2795--2802 doublet passes from net absorption to net emission in Ib stars around spectral class G0. (AIP)
