CONTROL OF NEUTRONIC REACTOR

A device for the control of a reactor is designed which affects the neutron flux in a uniform way and does not require much space outside the core for withdrawal of the control elements. The device comprises at least one pair of control elements arranged on opposite sides of the reactor and coupled together so that on operation of the device, they move simultaneously in opposite directions. The control elements may comprise rods or an articulated series of small containers filled with a neutron absorber, and the coupling means may comprise cables or chains. (D.L.C.)
