Mesoatomic processes in light atoms

The experimental and theoretical data which provide evidence for the influence of the chemical structure of matter on the behavior of mesoatomic processes and on the probability of nuclear reactions with mesons are given. The possibilities of practical application of the ''mesic chemistry'' methods to the analysis of the structure of matter are discussed. The recently calculated probabilities for atomic capture of mesons in light atoms and the calculated rates of mesoatomic processes in a mixture of hydrogen isotopes are presented. (auth)
