Solubility limits of cerium and yttrium fluorides in the CaF/sub 2/-NaF system were determined at 864 deg C. It was shown that cerium and yttrium fluorides precipitate with calcium fluoride (which crystallizes without melting) without a lower boundary of miscibility. The absolute crystallization coefficient of cerium fluoride is higher than yttrium fluoride. Crystallization of cerium and yttrium fluorides depends strongly on the temperature. An increase of temperature from 864 to 1015 deg C increased the crystallization coefficient several times. (R.V.J.)
