RADIOACTIVITIES PRODUCED IN FOODS BY HIGH ENERGY ELECTRONS. Report No. 9 (Progress) for Period June 15, 1959 to September 14, 1959

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4122006
The radioactivity in 6-lb cans of ground beef irradiated by 24-Mev electrons was measured using large NaI crystal counters. Activity from natural K/ sup 40/ and fall-out Cs/sup 137/ was also measured. The values found ranged from 1.0 x 10/sup -//sup 7/ to 1.3 x l0/sup -//sup 7/ nu c/gram beef/5 megarads. A 0.88-Mev gamma was observed which was thought to be from Rb/sup 84/. (T.R.H.)
