TOTAL CROSS SECTIONS OF PROTONS WITH MOMENTUM BETWEEN 10 AND 28 Gev/c

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters
Total proton cross sections were measured for protons and neutrons using a proton beam of momentum between 10 and 28 Bev/c. The p-p cross sections are in good agreement with earlier results and show a constancy at approx equal 40 mb over the entire momentum range. Absorption proton cross sections were measured at 24 Bev/c for Be, C, Al, Cu, Cd, and Pb; the results fit an A2/3 law except for the lighter elements. (D.L.C.)
