A HIGH RESOLUTION COMPTON-SPECTROMETER USING A SEMI-CONDUCTOR DETECTOR

Journal Article · · Nucl. Instr. Methods
A Compton-recoil gamma spectrometer is described in which the gamma photons are collimated, strike a Lidrifted Si detector, and produce Compton electrons plus recoil gamma rays. The recoil gamma rays are detected at a prescribed backscattering angle, in coincidence with the Compton electrons, by a scintillation detector. The Si detector has a resolution of about 1.6%.
