MOSSBAUER EFFECT OF Sn$sup 119$ NUCLEI IN A VANADIUM MATRIX (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Eksperim. i Teor. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4119175
The probability for resonance recoilless absorption of 23.8-kev gamma quanta by Sn/sup 119/ nuclei in a vanadium matrix is measured at temperatures from 77 to 680 deg K. The measurements are performed for rigid solutions with tin concentrations of 1.5, 3.45, and 7.22 atomic percent. The experimental data are directly compared with theory. The density function of the phonon frequency spectrum of vanadium experimentally determined was employed. Satisfactory agreement between theory and experiment is observed throughout the whole temperature range. Within the experimental errors no difference in the effect was observed for samples with any of the three concentrations. (auth)
