Self diffusion coefficients for the two tracers In/sup 114/ and Sn/sup 113/ in the liquid alloy indium-tin at the eutectic composition were measured as a function of temperature at 200 to 450 deg C. The customary Arrhenius equation is used to describe the experimental results. For indium as a tracer D = (42.5 plus or minus 5.7) 10/sup -5/ exp (-2771 plus or minus 158/RT) cm/sup 2//sec, and for tin D = (11.7 plus or minus 1.7) 10/sup -5/ exp(-1380 plus or minus 156/RT) cm/sup 2//sec. It is possible that the large difference between the two activation energies could be associated with properties of the eutectic composition. (auth)
