A new improved design of a countercurrent packed column was described. lt was shown that in the isotopic exchange between BF/sub 3/ and the complex, BF/ sub 3/ - (C/sub 2/H/sub 4/Cl)/sub 2/O, separation of the boron isotopes takes place; the value of alpha lies within the limits of 1.01 to 1.02 (for 60 deg ) with B/sup 10/ concentrating in the liquid phase. It was observed that with rise in column temperature of 20 to 60 deg the separation factor increases. A description was given of the mass spectrometric analysis of BF/sub 3/. (auth)
