A SATURATING REACTOR SWITCH TO EXCITE A HIGH-FREQUENCY TANK CIRCUIT

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4115359
A saturating reactor switch was used to transfer 15 joules to a 3.5 Mc/ sec, 1.7-ohm tank circuit with a Q of 40, from an external capacitor. An approximate impedance function for the reactor during rapid flux reversal is derived, and the design requirements for the reactor in such a circuit are discussed. The performance of the actual reactor and circuit is described. (auth)
